Advantages of waterproof MDF
The main properties of water-repellent MDF security door linings are:
- durability;
- thermal and acoustic insulation;
- resistance to water and humidity;

Water-repellent MDF is a medium-density fibreboard (Medium-Density Fibreboard) derived from wood, which has the particular characteristic of being water-repellent. For the production of this type of panel, many different types of wood are used, preferably Coniferous wood: from roundwood to off-cuts and processing waste. To produce water-repellent MDF, one starts with roundwood, which is usually first debarked and then chipped with the help of shredders or chipping machines. It is then sorted and inspected in order to proceed with the elimination of any excessively large, poorly shredded prices, and then proceeded to refining, the aim of which is to transform the wood fragments into fibre. Refining is carried out by milling to break the existing bonds and form a fibre pulp, facilitated by immersion in water, with the aid of steam and heat or with chemical treatments based on alkaline substances that weaken the lignin bonds.

In Mas, water-repellent MDF is used in the pantographed panel collection for a high-quality and very versatile result.
